Aston Villa finally lost in the English Championship on Saturday, defeated 2-0 by Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Steve Bruce’s side had previously won their last seven matches in the second-tier, majorly boosting their hopes of automatic promotion to the English Premier League.
However, with injuries to key stars like Jack Grealish and Albert Adomah, they came unstuck away to in-form Fulham thanks to goals from Ryan Sessegnon and Floyd Ayite.
Ayite’s goal, Fulham’s second of the day, resulted from goalkeeper Sam Johnstone’s error. His wayward free-kick found its way to the 29-year-old, who netted into an open goal from distance.
It was an absolute howler, the kind that frustrates supporters and makes them shake their head in disbelief.
However, fans have reacted less strongly that you might expect, backing the Man United loan star due to his exceptional form for the Villans this season.
